Academics

The responsibilities of the Academic Development Chair are to maintain chapter excellence and assist members who are in need of additional academic support. The Academic Chair is also a part of the Chapter Development Team as well as being an active participant on the Standards Committee. The duties of both of these positions are to ensure the sorority is following the policies and procedures of Tri Delta, including holding each member to the academic standards of the chapter. All Tri Delta members must maintain a 2.5 GPA or above and officers must maintain a GPA of 2.7 or above.

To make this task less daunting we have weekly study hours and have implemented incentive programs. One such program is the mentor-mentee program where you are assigned an older girl as a mentor, who will help you with your studies. Another program is the A lottery, and in this program girls that have received an A on a paper, test, or quiz are entered into a prize drawing. Also, the girls with the highest GPA at the end of each semester receive recognition and prizes such as a Starbuck’s gift card. In Tri Delta we help and motivate each other in order to ease the workload for one another.

Tri Delta recognizes and values the strong academic curriculum here at Villanova, and the Academic Chair is here to help the members benefit from this sorority not only socially, and philanthropically but in an academic way as well.
